Official: Russia may lift most coronavirus restrictions in autumn
MOSCOW, Mar 24 (PRIME) -- If mass vaccination from the coronavirus goes on as planned, the Russians will form herd immunity and the government will lift the bulk of coronavirus restrictions this autumn, Valentina Matviyenko, speaker of the parliament’s upper chamber Federation Council, told reporters on Wednesday.
“I think that experts are right when they say that the majority of restrictions will be lifted this autumn and we will return to life as usual this autumn if mass vaccination carries on,” she said.
Only mass vaccination would help Russia finally weather the coronavirus. “I think that there is no reason against vaccinating aside from rare medical constraints,” she added.
